Blood pressure transducer and patient monitor manufacturers, as well as users in Healthcare and Research facilities worldwide, depend on our vast experience and broad selection of products to accurately and promptly provide them with the correct cable configuration for their requirements.


Fogg System Company is seeking a Product Engineer to join its growing team in Aurora, CO.  

 

Position Summary:

This position is an opportunity to participate in all aspects of product development while supporting the existing product line of a 50-year-old company intent on future growth. You will lead efforts to develop new products and capabilities and bring them to market. You will communicate with customers to gain understanding of end-user requirements and conceptualize / analyze products in order to provide solutions for end-users while also bringing value to the organization.

 

You will use your electrical and mechanical engineering background, along with your strong communication skills, to support this low volume / high product mix manufacturing organization with hands on improvements to existing systems, processes, and documentation. You will be expected to offer key insights and ideas for solving production problems as they arise. You will participate in responding to customers concerning new product requests. You will lead material sourcing and qualification efforts, resolving supply chain issues as they arise, for both new and existing products.


 What you’ll be doing:

  • Communicate with OEM customers to conceptualize and design new products that meet their requirements.
  • Act as technical support, both internally and externally, for current and future products.
  • Create new documents, such as design drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing aids for new and existing products. 
  • Assist with managing suppliers and supplier quality issues to meet production requirements and improve production efficiency.
  • Support production activities and leverage mechanical and electrical background to solve problems.
  • Participate and contribute in upper management meetings concerning new business initiatives or ideas. 


Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or the equivalent technical knowledge gained through work experience in the field of medical electronics and other medical technologies. 
  • Mechanical engineering exposure or practical experience.
  • Knowledge of medical device design and manufacturing requirements preferred.
  • Exposure to ISO, FDA and EU MDR quality management system requirements. 
  • Excellent communication skills including English fluency, reading and comprehending technical literature, and superb writing proficiency with the ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate them to others using the written word. 
  • Experience supporting production processes with the ability to solve problems as they arise. 
  • Experience creating technical production drawings for changes to existing products or new product design.
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers, suppliers, management, and other team members. 
  • Good problem-solving abilities and an aptitude for applying past experiences to new challenges. 
  • Computer proficiency including experience with the suite of Microsoft Office products. 
  • Any industry knowledge of patient monitoring technology, manufacturers, and end users would be a definite plus. 
  • Circuit design, programing, and supervisory experience, any would be a plus.

  • A competitive starting salary, $75,000-$95,000/year, determined by education, experience, knowledge, company fit, and abilities of the applicant.
