Salary: $65,000-$85,000 Negotiable, Commensurate with Experience


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller-Accounting Manager to join our clients team. In this critical role, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and success of their growing construction company.


Responsibilities:


Financial Leadership & Oversight:

  • Develop and maintain sound accounting principles and best practices.
  • Oversee the entire accounting function, including general ledger, cash management, receivables, job costing, payables, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure the financial success of all company projects and initiatives.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial data to support informed decision-making.

Team Management & Development:

  • Supervise and train accounting staff, including assistant accountants, bookkeepers, and support personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing accounting team environment.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Implement, document, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop and contribute to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for ongoing financial processes.

Financial Close & Reporting:

  • Lead the preparation of workpapers supporting monthly and annual cost accounting close processes.
  • Review monthly and annual accounting close procedures to ensure accurate financial recordkeeping.
  • Compile, analyze, and submit financial statements and other reports on a timely and accurate basis.

Financial Analysis & Cash Management:

  • Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expense guidelines with the management team.
  • Perform cash flow projections to effectively manage cash flow and maximize returns.
  • Serve as the primary contact for banking partners, insurance agents, and external auditors (CPA).
  • Project and plan for profit, both book and tax, and report to management


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial data and prepare meaningful reports and statements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction accounting management
  • Experience with job cost accounting
  • Senior Level Tax Experience (highly preferred)
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise 2023
  • Working knowledge of payroll and HR functions, including payroll processing (through QuickBooks), insurance carrier interaction, and HR support
  • Proficient in Procore construction software or similar programs (highly preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
