Team Insight:

Become an integral part of our Transportation Civil Engineering Unit, a dynamic team focused on roadways, rail, transportation structures, and construction management. Your expertise in structural engineering will be pivotal in driving projects and mentoring junior team members. This role offers the potential for growth into a leadership position overseeing the structural engineering team.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead structural design for transportation structures, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and overhead signs.
  • Oversee structure condition inspections, design and inspection reports, studies, and construction documents.
  • Drive business development: spot opportunities, approach potential clients, and spearhead proposal preparations.
  • Design structural components for bridges and associated structures across varied complexities.
  • Estimate costs and develop components for contract drawings and construction sequences.
  • Perform load ratings and analyses.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Serve as project manager, ensuring timeliness, budget adherence, and top-tier quality.
  • Some travel required.



Qualifications


Must-Have:

  • Bachelor's (or higher) in civil/structural engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a relevant role.
  • PE license in any state with the ability to acquire in Maryland within 6 months of start.


Preferred Experience:

  • Led structural engineering projects for DOT and Rail/Transit Agencies.
  • Familiarity with MDOT Maryland Transit Authority (MTA) or Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).
  • Hands-on experience preparing/reviewing technical proposals for state and local government projects.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., LARS, STAAD, MicroStation).
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects.
