Position Overview: The Director of Sales will lead our sales team in achieving revenue goals and expanding our market presence globally, with an emphasis on DFW, Houston, Tulsa and Wichita. This role requires a dynamic and experienced leader with a proven track record in sales within the freight forwarding industry. The Director of Sales will be responsible for hiring, training, and retaining a high-performing sales team dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and meeting the strategic objectives of the organization.


Key Responsibilities:


Leadership & Management:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


Sales Strategy & Execution:

  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capture additional market share in the civil and military aircraft parts sector, international air freight, 3PL, warehousing, and global supply chain solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust strategies as necessary.


Customer Focus:

  • Capitalize on the exceptional customer service standards currently in place, with a primary focus on delivering the customers cargo, on-time, within budget and damage-free.
  • Embrace current operational communication protocols to keep customers informed about delivery status, especially in the event of delays.
  • Collect and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve service offerings.


Team Development:

  • Recruit, onboard, and train new sales team members and current sales team members, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to succeed.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities to enhance team performance.
  • Implement performance management processes, including regular reviews and feedback sessions.


Financial & Operational Management:

  • Develop and manage the sales budget, including forecasting and tracking sales performance against targets.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales activities, progress towards goals, and market conditions for senior management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of sales experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry
  • 5 years in a leadership role which included recruiting, training and retaining a sales team that consistently exceeds goals.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of the international freight forwarding market, particularly in the movement of aircraft parts and global supply chain solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable strategies.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
