Position Summary:
King & George, LLC is seeking detail-oriented Payroll Clerks to join our finance team at the Fort Worth headquarters. The Payroll Clerks will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees across all locations. This role involves maintaining payroll records, calculating wages, and responding to employee inquiries related to payroll matters. The ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:
- Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Verify and enter employee time records, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Calculate and process special payments such as commissions, severance, and bonuses.

Record Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure that employee data is up-to-date in the payroll system.
- Update payroll information for new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status or compensation.

Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including year-end reports such as W-2s.
- Assist in preparing payroll tax filings and remittances.

Employee Support:
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and other related issues.
- Provide support for employee questions about benefits and compensation.
- Coordinate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies.

Continuous Improvement:
- Suggest improvements to payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll practices, tax laws, and regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with government contracting or construction industry payroll.
- Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing.
