Acadia is a well-respected underground utility contractor serving the municipal, residential and commercial construction markets primarily in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. We are seeking a Junior Estimator to join the team! This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is early in their estimating career and eager to learn the civil construction and underground utilities trade from an experienced and supportive team.


As a Junior Estimator with Acadia, you will assist in preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for civil and underground utility construction projects. Working closely with Senior Estimators, Project Managers, and Engineers, you will help analyze plans and specifications, gather vendor and subcontractor pricing, and learn the full bid preparation process. This role offers hands-on mentorship and development opportunities to grow into a lead estimating position over time.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the estimating team in performing quantity take-offs and developing detailed cost estimates for civil and underground utility projects
  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to understand project scope and requirements
  • Help prepare and assemble bid packages for submission
  • Update and maintain estimating data, bid logs, and other project documentation
  • Learn to use estimating and take-off software such as Bluebeam and HCSS HeavyBid
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and assist in the review of addenda and clarifications
  • Participate in team meetings to review ongoing bids and pipeline opportunities

 

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • 0–3 years of experience in civil construction, estimating, or related field
  • Strong interest in learning construction estimating for underground utilities and site development
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other basic computer applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
