Role Overview

As a key member of our aviation team in Minneapolis, MN, the Airport Civil Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and construction administration of airport-related projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing Aviation Engineering Projects: Leading and contributing to the design of various aviation projects.
  • Analyzing and Preparing Reports: Analyzing data and preparing detailed engineering design reports, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Client Interactions: Assisting with interactions and communications with aviation clients to ensure their needs are met.
  • QA/QC Tasks: Performing quality assurance and quality control tasks to maintain high standards.
  • Project Management Support: Assisting with project management tasks, providing support to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Onsite Engineering: Serving as the onsite project engineer during construction projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Reading and interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to inform project designs.

 

A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required, enabling direct engagement with project sites and stakeholders.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Transportation from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a preference for those holding or pursuing a PE license.
  • EIT certification required.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience in heavy civil transportation and/or aviation design is highly desirable.
