Position Summary

The Safety Coordinator supports Acadia Services' health and safety efforts by helping assess workplace safety, enforce established standards, educate employees, and ensure safety goals are consistently met.

This role works closely with supervisors, managers, and employees to conduct safety audits, provide training, identify potential risks, and support compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working in the field, and able to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.


What You'll Do

  • Support the planning and implementation of company health and safety programs and protocols.
  • Educate supervisors, managers, and other company leaders on health and safety standards.
  • Conduct and present safety training sessions for employees.
  • Help ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify potential workplace safety issues and hazards.
  • Verify that employees consistently follow established safety procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct routine safety audits and assist with identifying areas for improvement.
  • Analyze health and safety data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve performance.
  • Review existing work activities and recommend changes that support a safer workplace.
  • Partner with employees and managers to reinforce safety expectations and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Assist with additional safety initiatives, projects, and responsibilities as needed.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of safety-related experience preferred.
  • Understanding of OSHA guidelines and applicable state and local safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of safety administrative responsibilities, audits, risk assessments, and workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to teach and reinforce established safety standards with employees and leaders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and resourcefulness skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Comfortable working with field personnel, supervisors, and managers across the organization.
  • Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools, and safety software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiarity with workplace tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact with diverse groups of employees.
  • Viewpoint experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • This is a field-oriented position that may require working in, on, around, over, and under fixed equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding as required.
  • Ability to work in hazardous or potentially irritating environments, confined spaces, and varying weather or temperature conditions while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to operate applicable test equipment, machinery, AV equipment, and power tools.
  • Ability to lift loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights and drive a motor vehicle as required for the position.
