Position Title: Consulting Associate

A Consulting Associate at Good Works Consulting helps clients implement solutions in the areas of talent, organizational development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a Consulting Associate, you will spend most of your time providing meaningful advisory service and helping shape and transform individuals and organizations. Some portions of your time may be invested in Good Works business development, and thought leadership. You will help dissect and assess current advisory practices, as well as craft new approaches. ➔ Client Betterment: In this role, you will make a direct and meaningful impact on our clients by enhancing their workplaces and systems with support from the Consulting Project Lead and/or Partner(s). Undertaking comprehensive consulting projects, you'll help the team drive measurable improvements in key metrics. With the ability to closely
monitor your progress and that of your clients, your individual contributions will stand out, leading to a sense of personal achievement.
➔ Tools and Methods: As a key player, you will quickly adapt to and implement Good Works’ advisory strategies and tools in your client engagements. You'll refine and apply distinctive tools and processes, (e.g., innovative consulting frameworks, practical templates, and novel research). These advancements, shared with your clients, will be a
testament to your ability to innovate and improve practices.
➔ Project Development: While this role emphasizes development of content and experience that support client impact, you won't be alone. You will typically report to a Consulting Project Lead or directly to a Partner, ensuring you have the necessary guidance and support. This setup allows you to design and direct client project elements autonomously, while still benefiting from collaboration as well as expert advice and oversight, ensuring impactful and well-resourced results.

Required
1. Consulting/Advisory. You have cultivated authentic client relationships through consulting engagements– external clients–advising in the areas of organizational development, management, human resources, DEI, advocacy and activism. You have provided expertise to internal and/or external stakeholders to assess, select and recommend
complex solutions and/or alternative approaches that will achieve business goals.
2. Research and Data Analysis. You have carried out quantitative or qualitative research. You have the initiative in finding the data you need and love decoding hidden insights by utilizing your knowledge of quantitative and/or human-centered methods. Experience with quantitative data analysis using tools such as Google Sheets and qualitative research using approaches such as interviews, focus groups, and thematic analysis are required.
3. DEI and/or Progressive Organizational strategies. You have a deep understanding of, and keep abreast of DEI and social justice issues/research, and you integrate the insights to advance equitable and inclusive practices in the workplace.
4. Presentation Skills and Data Storytelling. You create compelling presentation design by selecting the most effective format/visualization and tailoring it to different audiences. You have been constructing stories to communicate complex ideas and motivating vastly diverse audiences to new ways of behaving.
5. Learning Agility. The workplace ecosystem is constantly evolving. Guided by self-awareness, ambiguous settings inspire your learning and functional agility in supporting clients and stakeholders.
6. Autonomous Solutioning. For both Good Works and its clients, you will be comfortable identifying areas to be improved within your and your teams’ work, and setting improvements in motion collaboratively and/or making clear recommendations for those improvements.
7. Lived Experience. You bring to your work your own personal understanding and experience of marginalization while navigating systems and organizations.
