Northeast Regional Manager 

Location: New York or New Jersey preferred

Salary: $85K plus generous commissions and incentives (total earnings ranging from $140,000 to $180,000, based on sales performance)

Type: Full-time

 

Company Overview:

US-based wine importer representing wines from France, Spain, South Africa, Argentina, and the United States and growing into other regions. The portfolio supports high-quality, family-owned estates and aiming to expand their presence in the U.S. market.



Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate closely with distributors to enhance sales engagement, optimize product availability, streamline pricing, and improve budget efficiency.
  • Stay connected with the fine wine market in the Northeast to maximize visibility and seize new distribution and promotional opportunities.
  • Leverage preexisting account relationships to grow quality distribution and achieve growth KPIs.
  • Provide critical insight and data tracking to company leadership on market performance, budgets, and program execution.
  • Plan and accompany producer market visits, ensuring successful sales meetings.
  • Travel internationally to wineries, typically once per year, for wine education and relationship building.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Relationships: Experience with or working with MS Walker preferred, and calling on national and regional retailers (e.g., Wegmans, Wholefoods, Costco, BJ’s, Total Wine & More, Hannaford, Stop and Shop).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in distributor management or wine supplier roles, focusing on selling wine, building brands, and customer engagement.
  • Wine Knowledge: Comprehensive fine wine knowledge, especially European wines (French and Spanish). Preference for WSET 3 or above, CMS Certified or above, or similar credentials, as well as the aspiration to continue pursuing further formal wine education.
  • Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and computer proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet navigation).
  • Professional Traits: Professional, goal-oriented, high integrity, excellent planning, organizational, and managerial skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Location: Home office in New York or New Jersey area preferred. Must be open to focusing on NY/NJ/MA.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time for meetings, market visits, and presentations.
  • Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Compensation:

This role offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary and commission with total earnings ranging from $140,000 to $180,000, based on sales performance.
