Senior Credit Analyst

Location: Tonganoxie, KS

The Numbers: $72,000 – $95,000 Base Salary (Commensurate with complex credit experience)

The Big Picture

Our Client is a deeply rooted community bank that has been the financial cornerstone of Northeast Kansas for generations. Operating with a "decades, not quarters" mindset, they have built a reputation for stability, local empowerment, and high-touch service. As they continue to scale their commercial footprint across the region, they are looking for a Senior Credit Analyst who values the autonomy of a community bank environment but possesses the sophisticated analytical "muscle" typically found in much larger institutions.

The Mission

Your goal is to be a Strategic Architect of Risk. As the Senior Credit Analyst, you aren't just spreading tax returns; you are a critical pillar of the Risk Management Department. You will independently underwrite large, complex commercial credits and serve as a vital bridge between the frontline Loan Officers and the Chief Credit Officer. If you are a banking professional who thrives on "solving the puzzle" of complex C&I and CRE deals and wants a seat where your voice directly impacts policy and technology, this is your desk.

The Daily Grind (The Good Kind)

  • Complex Underwriting: Take full ownership of underwriting for large-scale credits, including C&I, CRE, and SBA loans, with a relentless focus on global cash flow analysis.
  • Portfolio Guardianship: Lead the annual review program, ensuring every file in the commercial portfolio is transparent, uniform, and reflects the true risk position of the bank.
  • Technical Sovereignty: Serve as the internal Administrator for the TAC financial spreading software, optimizing the platform to drive efficiency across the department.
  • Process Evolution: Collaborate directly with the EVP/Chief Credit Officer to identify and implement new methods, procedures, and technologies to modernize credit operations.
  • Regulatory Alignment: Maintain a bulletproof understanding of state and federal banking regulations to ensure every credit meets both internal policy and external compliance standards.

Your Toolkit

  • The Battle Scars: 5+ years of progressive commercial credit experience within a banking environment. You’ve seen enough cycles to know the difference between a calculated risk and a red flag.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep proficiency in commercial loan types (C&I, SBA, Construction/Dev) and a solid grasp of loan documentation, attachment, and perfection.
  • Analytical Rigor: Expert-level ability to analyze global cash flow and a high "attention to detail" threshold for identifying discrepancies in complex data sets.
  • Communication Edge: The ability to communicate credit-related decisions in a positive, constructive manner to Commercial Loan Officers and Executive leadership.
  • Location Fit: A preference for an in-person, collaborative environment based in Tonganoxie, serving the Piper, Basehor, Lawrence, and Perry corridors.

The Payoff

  • Compensation Detail: A competitive base salary of $72K – $95K+ based on your specific experience in complex credit and risk.
  • Stability & Culture: Work in a team-oriented environment where your work directly supports the local economy and businesses you see every day.
  • Influence: This is a high-impact role where you are encouraged to recommend policy changes and lead technology initiatives, not just follow a static manual.

Our Partnership Approach

Thank you for trusting Lupton Partners with your career transition. We take immense pride in our work, but our focus is always on the outcome—for both the candidates we represent and the companies we serve.

If the first role we discuss isn't the perfect fit, we won't force it. Our goal is to land you in the right place, not just the next place. We also recognize that career changes—even the most exciting ones—come with a side of stress. That’s normal. We’re here to handle the heavy lifting and provide clarity at every step.

What to Expect

  • The Introduction Call: This is a high-level chemistry check. We’ll dive into your history, map out your career goals, and get real about compensation and advancement targets.
  • Active Searches: We’ll match your story to our clients' needs. We keep compensation targets front-and-center so nobody’s time is wasted.
  • Client Submissions: It is our promise that we do not present your name or credentials to clients without clear communication and your explicit permission.
  • Interview Feedback: This is where we earn our keep. Call us as soon as you hit the parking lot. If you think you fumbled a question or found a better answer ten minutes too late, let’s talk.
  • Background Checks: Transparency wins here. If there’s a potential red flag in your background, drug screen, or credit report, tell us now so we can manage the narrative together.
  • Offers: No surprises. We’ll walk through a verbal offer together before the formal letter arrives. Since we align on numbers in our first call, this stage should be a “green light” celebration.
