Client Operations Lead (Senior Client Service)

Location: Overland Park, KS (Headquarters, where the magic happens)

The Numbers: $95,000 – $130,000 Base Salary (Commensurate with HNW experience and technical RIA "muscle")

The Big Picture Our Client is a premier Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm managing approximately $1 billion in assets. Operating from their Overland Park headquarters, they serve 650 high-net-worth households and 60 retirement plan relationships. With a deliberate culture of excellence and a tight-knit team of 17, they offer the high-touch feel of a boutique firm backed by the capabilities of a major organization.

The Mission Your goal is to be the Technical Backbone of the client experience. This is a senior-level "Department of One" operational role for someone who has spent years earning the trust of sophisticated families. You aren't just processing paperwork; you are the architect of the onboarding experience and the primary guardian of money movement integrity. You provide the operational sovereignty that allows advisors to focus entirely on delivering advice.

The Daily Grind (The Good Kind)

  • Onboarding Sovereignty: Own the client onboarding experience end-to-end, from account setup through first-review coordination, ensuring a seamless "Day One" experience.
  • Technical Point of Contact: Serve as the first point of contact for sophisticated client inquiries, resolving complex service needs with speed and professional polish.
  • Money Movement Integrity: Manage all wires, ACH transfers, RMDs, and distributions with a high degree of accuracy and strict adherence to internal compliance protocols.
  • System Mastery: Maintain audit-ready client records within the firm’s CRM and portfolio management systems (Salesforce/Redtail).
  • Advisory Partnership: Partner directly with advisors on meeting preparation and follow-up, ensuring the advisory team is fully leveraged.

Your Toolkit

  • The Battle Scars: 5+ years of client-facing experience specifically within a Wealth Management or RIA environment.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep fluency with custodial platforms (Schwab, Fidelity, or similar) and a clean compliance record regarding money movement.
  • Detail Threshold: Exceptionally detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Communication Edge: A polished, professional communication style appropriate for high-net-worth individuals and business owners.

The Payoff

  • Professional Autonomy: You will be a known, valued member of a small team where your judgment and technical input actually matter.
  • Culture of Excellence: Step away from the "sales-push" environment and join a firm that takes the long view on both client and employee relationships.
  • Competitive Package: A base salary range of $95K – $130K, plus full benefits, reflecting a firm that truly values high-level operational talent.

Our Partnership Approach Thank you for trusting Lupton Partners with your career transition. We take immense pride in our work, but our focus is always on the outcome—for both the candidates we represent and the companies we serve. If the first role we discuss isn't the perfect fit, we won't force it. Our goal is to land you in the right place, not just the next place. We also recognize that career changes—even the most exciting ones—come with a side of stress. That’s normal. We’re here to handle the heavy lifting and provide clarity at every step.

What to Expect

  • The Introduction Call: This is a high-level chemistry check. We’ll dive into your history, map out your career goals, and get real about compensation and advancement targets.
  • Active Searches: We’ll match your story to our clients' needs. We keep compensation targets front-and-center so nobody’s time is wasted.
  • Client Submissions: It is our promise that we do not present your name or credentials to clients without clear communication and your explicit permission.
  • Interview Feedback: This is where we earn our keep. Call us as soon as you hit the parking lot. If you think you fumbled a question or found a better answer ten minutes too late, let’s talk.
  • Background Checks: Transparency wins here. If there’s a potential red flag in your background, drug screen, or credit report, tell us now so we can manage the narrative together.
  • Offers: No surprises. We’ll walk through a verbal offer together before the formal letter arrives. Since we align on numbers in our first call, this stage should be a “green light” celebration.
