Overview
Lupton Partners is recruiting for the position of Mortgage Loan Officer on behalf of our client, a well-established, family-owned bank based in the Kansas City Metro area. This bank has built a strong reputation for exceptional customer service and offers a full range of retail and commercial banking products.
This role is unique compared to traditional mortgage loan officer positions, as it involves collaborating with an assigned group of bank branches to uncover mortgage opportunities within the existing customer base. The Mortgage Loan Officer will work closely with tellers, personal bankers, and business banking teams while also building external referral networks with realtors and other Centers of Influence (COIs) to drive mortgage business growth.
Key Responsibilities

Branch Partnership & Customer Engagement: Work closely with assigned branches, educating bank staff on mortgage products and identifying opportunities within the existing customer base.

Networking & Business Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with local realtors, financial professionals, and other COIs to generate additional mortgage loan opportunities.

Loan Origination & Product Knowledge: Guide clients through the mortgage loan process, ensuring they understand Conventional, FHA, and VA loan products while providing excellent customer service.

Sales & Service Mindset: While sales are a key aspect of the role, the primary focus is on delivering outstanding service and helping customers achieve their homeownership goals.

Pipeline Management: Maintain a healthy pipeline of mortgage applications, ensuring timely follow-up and processing.

Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all mortgage applications and related documentation comply with regulatory and bank guidelines.
Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of mortgage loan origination experience.

Product Knowledge: Understanding of Conventional, FHA, and VA loan products.

Sales & Relationship Building: Strong ability to develop relationships with internal bank staff, realtors, and other referral sources.

Customer-Centric Approach: A service-first mindset with a commitment to providing personalized financial solutions.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to educate and advise clients effectively.

Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with mortgage lending regulations and loan processing.
