Sr. Commercial Loan Assistant

The Numbers: $55,000 – $90,000 Base Salary (Commensurate with depth of complex closing/draw experience)


The Big Picture Our Client is a mission-driven, 75-year-old certified CDFI that serves as the economic heartbeat of Kansas City. As a pillar of community development since 1951, they provide the essential financial services that empower local businesses and non-profit initiatives. They are looking for a Commercial Loan Assistant who wants to move beyond "data entry" and become a vital gear in the machine that turns community vision into funded reality.


The Mission Your goal is to be a Precision Facilitator. As the Commercial Loan Assistant, you are the operational backbone of the Commercial Loan Department. You aren't just filing paperwork; you are responsible for the preparation, review, and processing of complex loan documents that enable community growth. The Daily Grind (The Good Kind)

  • Document Architecture: Take the lead in preparing and processing loan documents, ensuring every file is accurate, complete, and ready for a seamless closing.
  • Closing Coordination: Act as the primary coordinator for the loan closing process, working across internal departments to ensure efficient and timely operations.
  • Client Advocacy: Provide high-quality customer service, managing client communications and ensuring borrowers feel supported throughout the lifecycle of their loan.
  • Portfolio Integrity: Maintain meticulous records and ensure every transaction remains in strict compliance with banking regulations and internal "Safe Harbor" standards.
  • Operational Synergy: Serve as the bridge between lenders and the back office, ensuring that communication flows and bottlenecks are removed.


Your Toolkit

  • The Battle Scars: Proven experience in Loan Servicing and a strong foundational understanding of commercial loans. You know what a clean file looks like.
  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in preparing and processing loan documents and a familiarity with the closing process. Experience with banking and loan software systems is a significant plus.
  • The Detail Edge: A high "attention to detail" threshold. You are the final line of defense against errors and omissions in the loan file.
  • Communication Strength: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage confidential information and communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds.
  • Education: High school diploma required; additional education or certifications in banking or finance is preferred as you grow within the organization.
