Deposit Officer

Location: Kansas City, MO (In-Bank but remote / hybrid possible)

The Numbers: $75,000 – $105,000 Base Salary (Commensurate with Treasury Management experience)

The Big Picture Our Client is a mission-driven, 75-year-old certified CDFI that serves as the economic heartbeat of Kansas City. Operating with a focus on community transformation, they provide the capital that fuels local small businesses and minority-owned ventures. As they execute a strategic expansion of their corporate services, they are looking for a Deposit Officer who wants to move beyond "selling products" and instead become an architect of the bank's liquidity and treasury infrastructure.

The Mission Your goal is to be a Champion of Possibility. As the Deposit Officer, you aren't just gathering balances; you are managing the lifecycle of the bank’s deposit gathering efforts. You will partner with commercial calling officers to solicit high-value depositors and build out an expanded corporate treasury suite. If you are a professional who thrives on "owning" the product lifecycle and wants a seat where you directly influence how a bank interacts with its commercial clients, this is your desk.

The Daily Grind (The Good Kind)

  • Treasury Expansion: Lead the development and implementation of a sophisticated corporate treasury management suite in conjunction with the operations team.
  • Strategic Partnership: Act as the technical expert alongside commercial lenders to identify, solicit, and onboard new commercial deposit relationships.
  • Market Outreach: Identify new growth opportunities through community outreach and marketing initiatives, serving as the primary point of contact for commercial depositors.
  • Product Maintenance: Own the existing product suite, ensuring every service is optimized and up-to-date with current technology and industry trends.
  • Internal Education: Serve as the subject matter expert, training bank employees on depository and treasury services to ensure a unified sales culture.

Your Toolkit

  • The Battle Scars: 5+ years of related experience specifically in bank deposit or treasury management roles. You understand the complexity of electronic payments, ACH regulations, and remittances.
  • Technical Mastery: Strong familiarity with core banking systems and treasury management integrations. Experience with Jack Henry Core Director is highly preferred, but we invite conversations with experts proficient in FIS, Fiserv, or similar platforms.
  • Regulatory Rigor: A proven track record dealing with the rules governing banking regulatory agencies and the data file exchanges associated with prepaid cards and ACH.
  • Communication Edge: The ability to articulate a complex value proposition to people at all levels—from local business owners to C-suite executives.
  • Certification: A CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) is preferred, but we value your history of managing change and executing action plans.

The Payoff

  • Compensation Detail: A competitive base salary of $75K – $105K based on your specific treasury management muscle.
  • Impact & Purpose: Work for a bank where your deposit gathering directly impacts the local KC landscape through CDFI-funded initiatives.
  • Technical Sovereignty: This is a high-influence role where you are encouraged to champion new ideas and execute technology strategies, not just follow a script.

Our Partnership Approach Thank you for trusting Lupton Partners with your career transition. We take immense pride in our work, but our focus is always on the outcome—for both the candidates we represent and the companies we serve.

If the first role we discuss isn't the perfect fit, we won't force it. Our goal is to land you in the right place, not just the next place. We also recognize that career changes—even the most exciting ones—come with a side of stress. That’s normal. We’re here to handle the heavy lifting and provide clarity at every step.
