Commercial Banking Credit Analyst


Compensation: $70K-100K + Bonus and Benefits


Overview

Lupton Partners is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established community bank committed to providing exceptional service and prudent lending solutions. The Credit Analyst will play a key role in supporting the commercial lending team by evaluating the financial health of loan applicants, performing in-depth credit analysis, and ensuring sound underwriting decisions.

This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in advancing their career in commercial banking.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow statements for commercial, real estate, and small business borrowers.
  • Prepare detailed credit memoranda with risk ratings and recommendations for loan committee review.
  • Conduct collateral evaluations and assess loan structures for appropriate risk mitigation.
  • Perform annual reviews of existing borrower relationships, including covenant compliance and financial performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with commercial lenders and senior credit officers to structure new and renewed credit requests.
  • Stay current on market trends, industry developments, and regulatory guidance.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify early warning signs of credit deterioration.
  • Support internal audits, loan reviews, and regulatory examinations by providing required financial documentation and analysis.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in banking, credit analysis, or commercial lending preferred (internship experience considered).
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial analysis tools.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
