A leading global investment bank is building out its in-house Insurance Solutions capability within
its Global Markets division in Tokyo, with the ambition of becoming a comprehensive solutions
partner to insurers — spanning ALM and ESR-driven hedging, structured solutions, and reinsuranceadjacent
transactions. With Japan's move to an economic-value (ESR) capital regime and a
changing accounting environment, demand for these solutions is expanding, and the team is adding
senior talent to capture it. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a growing platform from an early
stage.
The team is hiring across two complementary tracks. We are reviewing strong profiles for both, and the
right track for each candidate is identified through the interview process (see “Selection process”
below).
① Structuring track
Designing and delivering insurance-focused solutions (ALM / ESR hedging, structured and reinsuranceadjacent
transactions) for insurer clients, working closely with the bank's international team. Strong
English is required as the role coordinates with the global team.
Flexible on background. The team is deliberately open on profile — strong potential, drive and the
appetite to help build a new capability matter as much as a precise checklist. Relevant routes include
insurer-side (actuarial / finance / ALM / investment), reinsurance, sell-side insurance solutions /
structuring, and consulting backgrounds with insurer relationships.
② Sales track
Role. A client-facing sales role covering financial-institution clients, centred on life insurers — delivering
solutions across investment strategy, ALM, risk hedging and the enhancement of life-insurance
products. You originate opportunities through client relationships and drive deals in coordination with
internal structuring and trading.

Selection process — Structuring or Sales is decided together, through the process
This is a dual-track opportunity. Rather than fixing a track up front, the interview process is
deliberately designed so that the firm and the candidate jointly determine the best-fit track —
Structuring or Sales — based on the candidate's background, strengths and interests.
Candidates are encouraged to engage with both possibilities; the conversations clarify where each
person can have the most impact before any track is confirmed.
