The Role

The AVP, Client Solution - Japan, Savings & Retirements is will be focussed on developing relationships in Japan and creating awareness of Savings & Retirements products.

The incumbent will be responsible for delivering market leading client relationships and they will be responsible for developing new deals and clients. The product suite for which the role is responsible for ensuring there is awareness of is longevity, GFS and any other Savings and Retirements products.

In performing their role, the incumbent will be expected to support the MVP, Client Solutions and the Savings and Retirements and the Savings & Retirements Executive Committee, in delivering a strategy and business plan for Japan. They will then work with AVP Client Solutions Asia for the execution of this strategy in client relationships and solutions for Japan market.

The individual will have built up significant product and market experience and will have relationships at senior levels with Japanese Insurers.



Key Responsibilities

1. Play a leading role in the development of the Savings & Retirements strategy for the Japanese market, developing business plans and KPIs based on these strategies.-20%

2. Develop market leading client relationships in Japan with the support of the Client Solutions leaders in other markets having a consistent approach. Ensure there is effective relationship at each level of seniority within our clients and Savings and Retirements are able to use these relationships to expand and grow business whilst supporting client needs.- 25%

3.Support the understanding throughout **Re of Japanese clients, their products risks and business norms. Help design products and structures that will work within the market. - 25%

4.Be a leading member of the Client Solutions Leadership team taking an interest and supporting role in the global Client Solutions efforts. -20%


Qualifications & Expertise

•At least 5 years’ experience in operating in (re)insurance including time in market facing and technical roles – experience in the Japan insurance/reinsurance market.

•Japanese speaker.

•Experience in asset intensive business or longevity business preferable.

•Understanding of the technical basis of reinsurance business, with a proven ability to understand and question pricing and / or capital bases.

•Excellent communication skills and track record of strong working relationships.

•5+ years experience in a sales, new business or client relationship role.

•Exceptional, influencing skills and an ability to operate at all levels.

•Highly financially literate and can understand reinsurance pricing. financial reporting and capital to a high level of detail.
