AD/D - Product Development, Hong Kong

Responsibilities

1. Work closely with other team members in Business Development, Product Development, Pricing, Underwriting and Medical to identify, research and price new product concepts, developing them into concrete product designs or solutions
2. Complete research and stay at the forefront of insurance industry developments, both locally and internationally, to identify opportunities and insights to support new product ideation and the setting of pricing assumptions
3. Analyze new sources of data to assist with the development of pricing bases for incremental or new product ideas and ensure these bases are sufficiently documented
4. Coordinate with various Firm's experts within local, regional, and global teams to discuss new product concepts/designs/benefits and associated pricing. Identify risks and risk mitigants through intelligent product design, practical underwriting guidelines and astute claim controls
5. Review product design, policy provisions, treaties, business development proposals and underwriting guidelines and tables as required
6. Participate in internal/external product development workshops and client meetings to present new ideas
7. Render efficient and courteous service to internal and external clients and ensure specified timelines and quality of service are maintained
8. Travel as per the requirements of the business for client meetings, presentations, internal or external seminars, or for other related activities

Required

1. Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, finance, or related fields
2. Accreditation as a fellow in a globally recognized actuarial association (U.S., Canada, Australia, UK etc.)
3. 5+ years of relevant experience in pricing or product development within life and/or health insurance
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and deal with multiple stakeholders within the business
5. Creative, agile, and open minded with a flair to take on challenges and deliver innovative solutions
6. Highly organized, delivery-orientated with the ability to work on and manage multiple concurrent projects
7. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others
8. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
9. Proficiency in written and spoken English

Preferred

1. Experience in biometric reinsurance pricing and product development
2. Good understanding of the Hong Kong insurance market and medical system
3. Knowledge of markets and insurance products offerings outside of Hong Kong
4. Proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin or other Asian languages will provide a significant advantage
