About the Role

 Reporting to the Market Head of L&H SEA and India, the candidate will lead, manage and be responsible for the growth of Life & Health structured solutions in the SEA market.

The role is client facing and requires the ability to identify opportunities, build solutions, implement client specific business strategies and execute structured solutions to meet *** Re's L&H growth ambitions.


Key Accountabilities:

  • The primary responsibility of this role will be to originate and support the execution of L&H structured transactions in SEA. This includes:
  • To develop, build relationship and maintain regular strategic dialogue with our clients' key decision makers (head of capital management, CFOs and Chief Actuaries) to identify opportunities for structured reinsurance solutions.
  • To initiate and maintain dialogue with clients on regulatory, accounting and fiscal matters with the aim of providing bespoke solutions to their needs
  • Be close to the development of the macroeconomic environment impacting our clients and actively develop solutions that are relevant to those issues
  • To have a deep understanding of the SEA markets both in respect of client's needs and local regulatory requirements.
  • To build a strong network of contacts including clients, consultants, actuarial consultants, regulatory bodies and banks to create a strong market presence.
  • To have a strong understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Fostering a strong team spirit of innovation and execution orientation.

 About the Team

 Although the role is an individual contributor role, the candidate will work in close collaboration with colleagues in many different areas across ***Re Life and Health organisation, in particular Client Markets and Life and Health Structured Solutions teams


 About You

  •  8 to 10 years of Life and Health insurance industry experience
  • Qualified actuary, CFA or accountant, or a strong technical understanding of structured transactions in the L&H space
  • Familiar with life insurance business from a financial perspective and capital management concepts - understanding of IFRS 17, risk based & regulatory capital frameworks is a must
  • Ability to work independently, develop solutions and priorities opportunities
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written in English
  • Ability to build and maintain a strong network of contacts in the SEA market
