Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven professional to lead and manage Solvency II-related activities at * Life Japan. This role will focus on regulatory reporting, capital adequacy, internal risk models, and engagement with group-level functions to ensure full Solvency II compliance and alignment with ** Group’s risk framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Solvency II reporting processes, including QRTs, SFCR, RSR, and ORSA submissions
- Support implementation, validation, and enhancement of internal risk models and economic capital frameworks
- Ensure alignment between Solvency II requirements and local (FSA, JGAAP) regulatory expectations
- Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and risk teams to ensure data quality and consistency
- Act as liaison between ** Life Japan and ** Group Risk functions.
- Monitor EIOPA and Japan FSA developments and advise on regulatory impact
- Contribute to broader risk governance activities, including stress testing, capital planning, and risk appetite setting
- Support senior management and the CRO in strategic risk and capital-related decision-making
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in insurance risk management, actuarial, finance, or regulatory reporting
- Deep knowledge of Solvency II regulations and internal model frameworks
- Strong understanding of economic capital, IFRS17, and local GAAP/JGAAP reporting
- Experience with ORSA, risk appetite frameworks, and capital strategy is a plus
- Fluent in English; Japanese fluency preferred but not mandatory
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Background:
- Actuarial qualification (FIAJ, FSA, etc.) or CFA/FRM
- Experience working with or within multinational insurers or reinsurers
- Prior exposure to European regulatory frameworks
