Strategic Goal of Team:

• Provide customized reinsurance solutions and engage actively with client to achieve strategic, business and financial targets as per approved Business Plan.
• Promote the *** Re’s brand, strengthening our profile as a leading reinsurer in the Global Markets

Principal Accountabilities:

• Actively present and participate in industry conference and task force
• Collaborate with Business Development and Pricing Actuary on technical discussion with clients on new initiatives, with the goal to deliver appropriate solutions to meet with client’s strategic growth aspirations
• Enhance the underwriting function including but not limited to streamlining, automation, and predictive assessment
• Implementation of medical underwriting manual and underwriting guidelines
• Provide medical underwriting training to clients
• Mentor clients’ medical underwriters when necessary
• Underwrite facultative cases that exceeds clients’ authority when necessary
• Review claims that exceeds clients’ authority
• Perform underwriting and claims audits
• Keep abreast of medical and pharmaceutical developments
• Support and advise ceding companies in product development
• Develop and maintain relationship with the C-suites, decision makers and key influencers of new and existing clients, and to deliver appropriate solutions to meet with client’s strategic growth aspirations

Requirements:

• University graduate, preferably medical doctor’s degree
• FLMI qualification or equivalent
• Minimum 15 years of life insurance experience in medical underwriting with exposure to wide range of risk underwriting, including but not limited to mortality, morbidity, occupational hazards, dangerous sports, etc.
• Fluent in medical terminology
• Proficient in web-based underwriting
• Preferably prior experience in life operations and policy servicing
• Prior experience in life reinsurance preferred
• In-depth understanding of the life insurance industry
• Administration process design and implementation
• Project management experience
• Fluency in English, knowledge of Asian languages a plus
