A Brief Overview
The person in this position will be a key member of the APAC Creation Enablement (ACE) team and will be called upon to help drive growth through ** Re. The person will work very closely with the local and regional teams on predominantly hybrid-related activities.
What you will do
- Establish credibility as an expert on hybrid deals:
- Understand client’s pain points and various financial reporting/solvency regimes, so as to help identify new opportunities and customize hybrid solutions.
- Understand **’s competitive edge, and keep abreast of new hybrid solutions offered by ** and other competitors, locally and globally
- Stay up to date on all ** Trad, Structuring, internal risk appetite and corporate guidelines which potentially impact hybrid transactions
- Provide technical support to local teams on ideation and problem solving:
- Be “first in mind” when client issues arise
- Support deals / projects relating to development of customized hybrid reinsurance transactions, which requires close collaboration with pricing, risk, valuation, finance and operations teams in end-to-end hybrid quotation process
- Help engage internal and external stakeholders to develop optimized business flow, deal structure, commercial and legal terms throughout the process, and continuously assist with addressing client needs until successful completion of the quotation
- Assist pricing team to assess and quantify risk exposure of hybrid reinsurance transactions, and assist documentation of these risks to facilitate signoff
- Thought leadership:
- Provide training / share learnings with local teams on hybrid reinsurance solutions to improve capabilities across the region.
- Maintain high visibility in internal conferences and seminars.
- Maintain key relationships:
- Regional functional leaders and team members
- Local Chief Pricing Actuaries and Heads of Pricing across Asia
- Business Development teams and Pricing Actuaries in the region
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Actuarial or related field of study
- 10+ Years Full-time work experience (or equivalent) of actuarial pricing, valuation, or financial reporting experience in life insurance or reinsurance
- Good understanding of key financial reporting, accounting, and solvency regimes, including (but not limited to): US GAAP, US Statutory, US tax, IFRS, MCEV / EV / EEV, and Solvency II
- Strong knowledge of traditional, biometric, financial and asset intensive insurance
- Ability to lead cross-functional project teams and liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines
- Knowledge of Asian life insurance markets and product lines highly regarded
- Asian language skills desirable
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal; demonstrating the ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view

- FSA - Fellow of the Society of Actuaries Accreditation as a fellow in a globally recognized actuarial association (e.g. U.S., Canada, Australia, UK or equivalent)
