Position Overview:                            

SEA Business Development team explores new opportunities and develops new solutions/products to create stronger ** propositions and better value for our clients in Southeast Asia (SEA). As a core member of the team, this role works closely with the Regional Product Hub in Hong Kong and other ** SEA frontline functions such as Business Development, Underwriting and Pricing teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Product Hub, be the contact person knowledgeable about ** product library and product development successes in other parts of **.
  • Identify product concepts from the Product Hub to be adopted for development in SEA
  • Conduct market research and market landscape analysis for SEA markets to share amongst BDPD community and provide recommendations on development of new products for SEA
  • Own the product development rollout plan for SEA. Complement the SEA business development plan by leveraging PD as a core service to ** clients
  • Ensure all product development procedures, including preparation of product memo, comply with**’s internal standards, guidelines and country mandates
  • Work closely and collaborate with Product Hub to ensure effective handover & documentation of pricing assumptions for local customization, pricing and underwriting guidelines review
  • Engage potential clients to share on product proof of concept, with complete product proposition including marketing angle, channel consideration, price-point selection, business size estimation etc
  • Drive start-to-end product development process with ** clients to work through product ideation, feature design, pricing, underwriting guidelines, T&C formulation, product filing, market positioning and train-the-trainer etc
  • Support business development in building and maintain strong relationships with counterparts of our client companies
  • Participate in discussions with wider BDPD communities, attending product workshops, preparing materials, and attending client meetings when required


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or related disciplines
  • Actuarial background preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience in a life insurance, insurance consulting or reinsurance company with experience in product development, product marketing or pricing
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented and solutions-focused; able to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others
  • Strong client services ability with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); proficiency in another Southeast Asian language is strongly preferred
  • Advanced user in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint
  • Innovative, proactive, open-minded and improvement oriented
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to partner with internal & external stakeholders in a collaborative manner
  • Strong critical and innovative thinking, with the ability to develop product proposition, resolve complex problems and deliver solutions
  • Ability to travel ~20%
