Position Description
We are seeking a Marketing Manager to join the Japan Marketing team to help execute high quality, highly effective marketing programs to achieve the firm’s objectives with particular focus on various events and external conferences. This multifaceted role requires a hands-on approach, excellent organizational skills and an aptitude for problem solving. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Vice President, Head of Marketing, Japan and will work closely with multiple internal stakeholders, including the global marketing team, as well as managing external vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Support in planning, preparing and managing the execution of events for various clients.
- Manage from the preparation of the event to the day of the event, checking the schedules of employees and, for example, arranging meeting dates with vendors.
- Prepare and send invitations/emails, and manage RSVP, create necessary materials for the event, and liaise with various vendors.
- Examples of collaboration with various vendors include: online platform companies, interpreting companies, novelty companies, recording/distribution companies, venue vendors, etc.
- Coordinate with compliance to ensure all materials produced are fully compliant with regulations.
- Gather metrics for all marketing related activities, assist in the preparation of reports for the Channel Marketers for post event or campaign reports.
- Assisting with various marketing projects and activities around delivering and developing marketing programs to support our business as required
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or business related disciplines
- Professional qualification in finance is a plus
Experience:
- Strong level of writing skills in client communication in Japanese
- Experience in creating and editing marketing related tools (PPT required, Excel for tabulation and other basic functions)
- Experience in utilizing webinars; Demonstrate proficiency with technological tools
- Business level English communication (reading, writing, and speaking) is required as collaboration with the global marketing team. TOEIC score of 850 or above (preferably 900)
- Minimum of 10+ years of marketing or event management experience within the financial or IT services industry
- Demonstrate the ability to organize and communicate information effectively in writing both Japanese and English.
- Extremely detail oriented and organized
- Demonstrate above average interpersonal communications
- Have a client-focused orientation; knows who the internal and external clients are
- Actively listen and ask questions to determine and meet customer needs
- Focus on specific goals, and demonstrate a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results
- Proficiency in spoken and written English (biz level) and Japanese (native)

- Ability to negotiate and work effectively as a manager across business channels and external vendors
