DEV TEAM MANAGER

This position manages more than 10 members.
■Job Purpose
The firm is currently hiring a Dev Team Manager to strengthen development team operations.
The Dev Guidewire and Document Mgt team is in the Open Engineering Department, and manages customer facing applications used to create, quote and buy insurance products
in addition to internal facing applications used to manage policies and claims.
As the leader of the Dev Guidewire and Document Mgt team, you will leverage your communication, leadership and technical expertise skills
to help define and implement best practices, collaborate with stakeholders and build the skills and capacity of the dev team
to deliver high quality and user satisfying software solutions.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
■Requirements
(1): Technical skills, Job experiences
Must have
- Prior experience in a technical leadership position
- A minimum of 7 years of experience as a software engineer developing web applications
- Technical competence with both front end and back-end development
- Expertise with Java, Gosu or another Java equivalent/similar language
Good to have
- Competence with AWS, GCP, Azure or similar cloud application development
- Competent understanding of both SDLC and Agile development
- Competence with modern relational database operations and performance optimization
- Competence with APIs and microservice architecture
- Competence with code versioning tools
- Competence with code quality tools
- Competence with JS libraries and frameworks
- Guidewire, Al Fresco experience
- Insurance or financial services industry experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from accredited college/university or equivalent work experience

Japanese: Business level or above (N3+)

■Key Accountabilities
【Solution implementation】
・Understand requirements from business representative and implement features/functionalities aligned to coding and security standard
・Consider and discuss non-functional requirement such as performance, security and monitoring, and apply them to design and implementation
【Code quality responsibility】
・Conduct code reviews
・Mentor developer on technical topic within the team
【Production support】
・Be proactive on issue analysis.
・Provide resolution approach, workarounds and bug fixes
【Development process improvement】
Assess and propose improvement on internal development standard to bring in better quality and efficiency
