About the Job

 The objective of Client Markets is to grow our business with our clients sustainably and is central in leading the wider cross functional teams to execute our business strategies and client activities.

As a client manager you will develop and maintain relationships with our clients at all levels, including the working level, C-suites, decision-makers and key influencers. Deliver appropriate solutions to meet with the client’s strategic growth aspirations, as well driving new reinsurance demands from the markets to meet The Company's own growth aspirations.

 

Job Accountabilities

  •  Ensure The Company (and generally you as the client manager) is the first port of call for assigned clients
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of clients, with optimal and efficient utilisation of The Company's resources and at all times ensuring appropriate premium, profitability and customer satisfaction targets are met
  • Develop business plans including marketing objectives and strategies in respect of the portfolio of clients in assigned markets
  • Identify opportunities to work with assigned clients by delivering The Company value propositions, and to secure business to meet plan. Strive continually to exceed client expectation.
  • Take leadership internally across various functions to ensure the teams are aligned to perform optimally for our clients

 The Client Markets Team is a group of dynamic individuals who strive daily to deliver the maximum value to our clients, while employing sound risk management expertise to each and every interaction they undertake.

In addition to being part of a high performing Client Markets Team, we at The Company pride ourselves on how we collaborate across all our functions. You will work closely with Product, UW & Claims, Technical Accounting and other key functions that come together to support you as you bring the newest product ideas, transaction structures and technology solutions to help our clients in a way that only The Company can.

About you  

  •  Minimum 10 to 15 years of relevant life insurance or reinsurance experience
  • Action orientated with ‘hunger’ to achieve great results.
  • Outgoing, confident with excellent social skills, written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter, problem solver, creative, entrepreneurial, persistent, determined, ability to learn quickly and think on one's feet.
  • Excellent marketing and negotiation skills with a focus on client value creation.
  • Good network of local insurer contacts as well as in the region would be advantageous.
  • Native Japanese and good command of English required.
  • Motivated and results oriented with an ability to work in a team (including coordinating various stakeholders) and deliver under pressure.
  • Actuarial knowledge would be advantageous but not mandatory
  • Willing to travel as required.
