JOB SUMMARY – The position holder shall be responsible for driving business aspects such as supporting distribution growth, activities, compensation design, along with technical initiatives such as driving IF & health inforce management and UW/claims management/reinsurance strategy.


Main Responsibility


1.    Define, develop and implement Technical Excellence initiatives. Special focus on Health portfolio / in-force management initiatives. Ensure that the strategic and financial plan is consistent with the impact of the Technical Excellence initiatives, which implies quantifying their impact, as well as calculating the possible market momentum and isolating the impact of special events.

-Main KPI :   Impact of TechEx initiatives on Technical Result: Actual vs Commitment.

% Coverage of Envisaged P&L Improvement on Best Estimate Gross Technical Result.



2.    Assist the Distribution area in the development of projects and initiatives, as well as in the design of sales compensation and related analytics.

Main KPIs per channel:

-       Technical Result.

-       PVNBP / APEs / GWP.

-       NBV.

-       Renewal ratio.

-       Renewal amount.

Persistency.

 

3.    Cooperate in M&A processes, banca partnership opportunities and distribution agreements, giving support to GARO M&A, TechEx, Actuarial, Finance and Distribution areas in technical and local aspects during the valuation and approval phase and, in case of successful closing of the deal, during the execution and implementation phase.

- Accurate assessment of the technical aspects of the company's business to be valued. In case of closing a deal, subsequent degree of success of the projected business plan vs. reality 


4.    Optimize the portfolio of traditional savings products by maximizing the technical result and the profit margin of these products, as well as reducing their average guarantee and the duration gap.

5.    Define policies and driving governance for the following areas:

a)    Underwriting and risk strategy.

b)    Portfolio Management and Pruning.

c)    Reinsurance strategy.

 Main KPIs for Health and Life:

-       % Policies with negative leakage in LoBs with technical tariff.

-       % Policies cancelled by the company.

Improvement in Solvency Ratio due to reinsurance structure.



6.    Promote the application of Data Analytics and Business Intelligence to improve the technical result.

Qualitative assessment of the CEO and HR.


7.    Build the Insurance Office team, considering different aspects: organization, technical skills, team members

8.    Any other projects/activities as per direction of the Chief Insurance Officer

Savings due to Data Analytics applications

 Implementation of tangible improvements every year on technical monitoring

 


Experience:

·       At least 8 years of relevant experience and knowledge in Life business, including best practices and technical aspects.

·       Experience in managing projects and teams.

·       Experience in Business Unit operation.

·       Experience in product development.

 

Skills:

·       Leadership skills, very good communicator and with the ability to inspire and influence senior executives towards development of initiatives and achievement of goals, in an evolving and

often ambiguous market environment.

·       Committed to continuous learning and willing to keep up to date on new developments.

·       Strategic thinking, creative and foresight.

·       Understanding of the local market.

·       Good understanding of financial and insurance concepts, such as Solvency II and IFRS17.

·       Discretion when dealing with confidential information (e.g., M&A processes).

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.

·       Proficiency in English.

·       Proactive, autonomous and with initiative. Focus on execution and implementation.

·       Teamwork spirit.

·       Able to deal with uncertain environment, pro-active attitude.
