Position Summary
We are looking for a Business Development and Transaction Manager to support our rich pipeline of Japanese transaction opportunities (primarily flow and block reinsurance). This role works closely with our Japanese Co-Head Asia Growth, providing comprehensive support on client engagement and transaction management in the Japanese life insurance market. This position provides an exceptional platform for Japanese-speaking professionals seeking to build a truly global career while continuing to focus on the Japan market. It offers a unique combination of a Singapore-based role with a focus on the Japan market and collaboration with a global team in location such as London and Bermuda.
Key Accountabilities
•Project Coordinatio & Management
1.Support overall project and transaction management, including coordinating deliverables across multiple workstreams (actuarial, investment, legal, etc.) and time zones (Japan/Singapore, London, Bermuda) .
2.Proactively identify potential issues across workstreams and help finding solutions to ensure successful transaction outcomes.
3.Prepare meeting materials (e.g. memos and presentation packs), record action points, and independently follow-up with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met.
4.Draft and translate documents between English and Japanese to ensure clarity and consistency of communication across teams with a high standard of technical accuracy, structure, and visual quality.
5.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as advisors and clients to maintain smooth communication and workflow throughout each transaction.
•Operational and Logistical Support
1.Arrange calls, meetings, and travel logistics for key internal and external discussions.
2.Manage document filing, version control, and information sharing across multiple projects to ensure alignment and accuracy.
•Strategic and Market Support
1.Contribute to internal discussions on the Japan market, including competitor tracking, regulatory updates, and client developments.
2.Provide local insights and assist in shaping ** Life’s strategic approach to growth and value creation in Japan.
Key Requirements
•Life Insurance Industry Experience:
1.Experience in or exposure to the life re/insurance industry, ideally with a life re/insurance company.
2.Candidates from consulting firms, financial institutions, or other related sectors are welcome to apply, provided they have a sound understanding of life insurance products and business practices.
•Project and Business Support Experience:
1.Hands-on experience supporting project management or business development, including coordinating deliverables, preparing materials, and facilitating communication among stakeholders.
2.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify emerging issues and contribute to finding constructive solutions.
•Language Proficiency:
1.Native-level or business-proficient Japanese, capable of drafting, reviewing, and translating documents in a professional business context.
2.Strong command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively across global teams.
