Responsibilities :
- Provide services to THE FIRM's Management Pte Limited (MMPL) for THE FIRM's profitable acquisition and management of Financially Motivated Reinsurance (FinMoRe) business in Japan.
- Support the HS’s strategy shaping by providing his/her analysis of the market/clients/competitors in proactive and professional manners,
- Expand and manage manager/section-chief-level client contacts and relationships for efficient business development and market intelligence around FinMoRe business,
- Maintain high visibility in the market through client visits, industry presentations, publications and other value-added activities,
- Support the regional Structured Solutions team with regards to risk analysis, including the relevant documentation, in terms of FinMoRe opportunities arising from Japan in timely and professional manners,
- Proactively look for information around trends in the industry, changes in regulations and other environment which may be relevant to MR’s business propositions for timely updates to the HS ,
- Provide quality supports/inputs with regards to administration (including liaisons with clients), valuation, monitoring (including periodical experience analysis) and other operational tasks relevant to existing FinMoRe treaties written from Japan,
- Assure that his/her tasks and duties are managed/handled in accordance with the relevant guidelines and authorities, and
- Perform quality peer-review and warrant accuracy/ quality of works by the team, including documentations.
Your profile :
- Qualified Life actuary (preferably FIAJ).
- 5 to 10 years of experience at a Life insurance company in Japan. Preferably with experience in valuation, pricing and experience studies.
- Familiar with regulations related to insurance business (IBL, J-GAAP, US-GAAP, IFRS, ESR, etc)
- Team player, highly motivated, proactive, positive attitude, enduring, open to new ideas and feedback from peers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Native Japanese language, intermediate level in English. Willingness to learn/improve English and to work in an international environment.
- Experience in driving and leading projects.
- Good IT skills and willing to learn internal IT tools.
- Analytical skills and a flair for statistics, analytic modelling.
- Flexibility for occasional business trips.
