Financial Solutions Life/Health is active in the area of developing non-traditional reinsurance solutions involving the transfer of market risks; the development and production of savings, investment and retirement products; and the transfer and transformation of extreme risks. We manage nontraditional business targeting on various aspects of corporate finance, as well as risk management issues of life insurers (i.e. by means of structured reinsurance, hedging, and other transactions).

We are looking for an accounting and regulation expert who is able to take an active role to not only develop and optimise product concepts and reinsurance structures, but also to present to clients adequately. This is an intellectually challenging and rewarding role for someone with extraordinary expertise of Japanese regulation (local GAAP and supervisory rules) and a sound basis of IFRS experience. This role will be based in Tokyo.

Responsibilities:

1. Development of new Reinsurance concepts with a focus on the local accounting and regulation aspects in close liaison with the structuring team.

2. Communication of transaction and product concepts to clients

3. Leading transaction teams, coordinating analysis and implementation as well as giving advice to the team on complex accounting issues

4. Build up and continuously further develop expertise on accounting regulation and actuarial issues in Japan and rest of Asian markets

Requirements:

• University degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial or related field

• About 20 years of work experience in areas such as auditing and accounting or as actuary in public accounting or consulting firms or insurance companies.

• Strong knowledge of Statutory Regulation and Insurance Instrument Accounting in Japan, sound knowledge of IFRS regulation.

• Knowledge of other regional accounting and regulatory rules, USGAAP or Solvency II desirable

• Familiar with concepts of non-traditional reinsurance and/or financial derivatives

• Independent, proactive, and a strong team player with an interest to work in a multicultural team

• Fluent in English and Japanese

• Excellent communication skills and presentation skills.
