Field Operations Leadership

Company Overview

A growth-stage, venture-backed technology company supporting government and enterprise customers is expanding its operational and deployment capabilities as it enters a new phase of scale and product maturation. The organization develops advanced hardware and software solutions designed for use in complex operational environments, with a focus on bridging engineering innovation and real-world field application. Its products support mission-critical workflows and are deployed in demanding environments where reliability, usability, and rapid iteration are essential.

Operating within a highly collaborative and fast-moving environment, the company works closely with end users to test, evaluate, and refine products through continuous operational feedback and iterative development cycles. Teams are distributed across multiple U.S. locations and include engineering, product, operations, and customer-facing personnel working together to accelerate deployment and product improvement initiatives.

The culture emphasizes adaptability, ownership, practical problem solving, and strong cross-functional collaboration. Employees are encouraged to operate with a high degree of initiative and comfort in dynamic environments where priorities and operational needs may evolve quickly.

Position Overview

The company is seeking a Field Operations Specialist to support product deployment activities, operational testing, user evaluations, and field support initiatives for advanced technology systems used in demanding real-world environments.

This role is focused on hands-on operational support rather than traditional laboratory or bench testing. The Field Operations Specialist will work directly in field environments, helping simulate customer use cases, evaluate system performance, and provide actionable operational feedback to engineering and leadership teams.

The ideal candidate combines operational experience with strong communication skills, adaptability, and technical curiosity. Successful individuals are comfortable spending extended time in dynamic field environments, troubleshooting systems under real-world conditions, and translating operational observations into meaningful product feedback.

This position requires extensive travel and close collaboration with engineers, deployment teams, program stakeholders, and customer personnel. Candidates should be energized by emerging technologies, fast-moving environments, and hands-on operational problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute operational field testing and deployment support activities for advanced technology systems
  • Support customer-facing demonstrations, evaluations, and deployment initiatives
  • Operate and troubleshoot systems in realistic field environments
  • Provide actionable operational feedback to engineering and product teams
  • Assist with user training, onboarding, and operational support activities
  • Conduct testing and support activities in physically demanding environments and extended field exercises
  • Help replicate customer operating conditions to validate product performance
  • Communicate effectively across operational teams, engineers, and leadership stakeholders
  • Capture lessons learned, operational observations, and system improvement opportunities
  • Support rapid iteration cycles between field operations and engineering teams
  • Travel frequently to customer locations, testing sites, and operational facilities throughout the United States

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, operationally minded professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys working at the intersection of technology and real-world deployment. Strong candidates will bring a combination of field experience, technical aptitude, communication ability, and adaptability. This role is especially well-suited for veterans transitioning from Special Operations or combat arms backgrounds with fast-paced field environments who want to remain close to mission-oriented work while supporting emerging technologies alongside a company postured for significant growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct operational or field-based experience
  • Familiarity with structured operational environments and field support activities
  • Ability to operate effectively in austere or physically demanding conditions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfort interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems quickly
  • Experience training users, troubleshooting equipment, or supporting deployed operations
  • Ability to work independently in fast-moving environments

Candidates ranging from recently transitioned professionals to more experienced operators are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment & Travel

This role involves frequent travel throughout the United States, including support at customer facilities, testing sites, and operational locations across multiple regions.

Travel is expected to be approximately 50%, with some trips requiring short-notice deployment or schedule flexibility. A portion of travel may occur with minimal advance notice. The role requires individuals who are comfortable operating in physically demanding environments and who enjoy hands-on field work alongside customers, operational personnel, and engineering teams.

Compensation: Mid to High $100K's
