Position: Head of Wealth Management – PE-Backed Wealth Management Firm


Location: Coastal Conneticut


Compensation: Mid $100K’s Base + Bonus


About the Opportunity: We are seeking a Head of Wealth Management to join a rapidly scaling, PE-backed wealth management platform focused on partnering with high-quality advisory firms and accelerating their next phase of growth. This individual will join a newly acquired partner firm in Hartford, CT and play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of the business alongside the CEO and broader platform leadership team.

The firm is entering a pivotal stage of growth, supported by institutional infrastructure, marketing investment, acquisition activity, and operational resources from the broader platform. The incoming leader will help professionalize and scale the wealth management function while maintaining the culture and client-centric approach that made the firm successful.


This is a unique opportunity for a high-performing financial advisor or practice leader who wants to move beyond a pure individual contributor role and become a strategic leader within a growing enterprise. The role combines client-facing advisory work, team leadership, operational influence, and long-term platform growth exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Acquisition & Growth

  • Lead the full client acquisition process, including discovery, proposal, planning, and onboarding conversations
  • Engage prospective clients generated through marketing, referral channels, and personal networking efforts
  • Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities while maintaining disciplined follow-up and conversion processes
  • Partner with the CEO and senior advisors to identify planning and wallet-share opportunities within the existing client base
  • Differentiate the firm’s value proposition and effectively handle objections throughout the sales process
  • Contribute directly to firm growth initiatives, advisor recruiting efforts, and broader business development strategy

Financial Planning & Client Advisory

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive financial plans for high-net-worth individuals and families with complex financial situations
  • Lead onboarding and implementation efforts, including account transitions and asset transfer coordination
  • Provide ongoing relationship management, portfolio guidance, and proactive client communication for assigned relationships
  • Conduct regular client reviews and adjust planning strategies as client needs evolve
  • Identify opportunities for deeper engagement across tax planning, estate planning, held-away assets, and broader wealth management services
  • Partner closely with advisors and support teams to ensure a seamless and high-touch client experience

Leadership & Platform Development

  • Help lead and scale the wealth management function alongside the CEO and platform leadership
  • Coach and support junior advisors and team members on planning processes, client engagement, and business development
  • Assist in implementing operational best practices, planning systems, and client service workflows
  • Contribute to strategic growth initiatives, including acquisitions, integration efforts, and marketing expansion
  • Collaborate with peer leaders across the broader platform to share best practices and drive performance improvements

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a successful financial advisor, wealth planner, or practice leader
  • Strong expertise in holistic financial planning, investment strategy, and long-term client relationship management
  • CFP designation strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success managing and growing high-net-worth client relationships
  • Experience building pipelines, generating business, and converting new client opportunities
  • Strong communication skills with executive presence and relationship-building capability
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience leading initiatives, teams, or operational improvements within a growing business is highly attractive
  • Military leadership, consulting, startup, or other high-performance leadership backgrounds are viewed favorably
