The Opportunity: General Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the senior leader for the assigned office or business unit.
- Take full ownership of financial performance, culture, and results.
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable managers, estimators, and operational leaders.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations across teams.
- Build a high-performance, accountability-driven culture.
Sales Growth & Financial Performance
- Drive revenue growth and profitability with full P&L responsibility.
- Own sales strategy, pipeline visibility, and revenue forecasting.
- Review and approve Work-in-Progress (WIP), billing, and collections.
- Improve margins through disciplined project selection and execution.
- Deliver strong return on investment through cost control and throughput improvement.
Operations & Execution
- Partner with field and operations leaders to ensure strong project execution.
- Ensure smooth handoff from preconstruction/sales to operations.
- Monitor project performance, staffing levels, and capacity planning.
- Champion safety, quality, and compliance across all projects.
Process & Operating Rhythm
- Implement and maintain a structured operating cadence (e.g., weekly leadership meetings, forecast reviews).
- Lead bid reviews, operational reviews, and financial check-ins.
- Maintain visibility into backlog, pipeline, staffing, and future workload.
- Drive continuous improvement across systems, tools, and workflows.
People Development & Growth
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent.
- Build leadership bench strength across operations, project management, and estimating.
- Coach emerging leaders and create clear development paths.
- Support strategic growth into new markets or service lines as appropriate.
Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience in construction leadership roles.
- Experience in general construction, fence/gate, perimeter security, or specialty construction preferred.
- Proven success leading teams and driving revenue growth.
- Strong business and financial acumen with experience managing forecasts and KPIs.
- Demonstrated ability to take full ownership and hold teams accountable.
- Military leadership experience is highly valued.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, performance-driven environments.
- Experience with CRM, project management tools, and reporting systems preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- $130,000–$150,000 base salary, plus performance-based incentives.
