The Opportunity: Federal Business Development Representative


Location: Remote


Travel: ~50%

This is a unique opportunity to join at the ground floor of their federal expansion.


The Role:

This is the first dedicated federal sales hire at the company.


You will be responsible for building and executing the federal go-to-market strategy from the ground up, owning pipeline development, engaging key stakeholders, and driving early traction across priority government accounts.


Reporting directly to senior leadership, you’ll operate as both a strategist and a doer, opening doors, shaping opportunities, and managing deals through the full lifecycle. You’ll also play a key role in informing product direction and positioning as the company builds solutions tailored to government needs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys autonomy, and wants to help build something from zero.


What You’ll Do:

  • Build and manage a pipeline of federal opportunities aligned to company capabilities
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across defense, health, and government agencies
  • Engage early in the buying cycle to help shape requirements and influence outcomes
  • Own the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and positioning to close
  • Support capture efforts, teaming strategies, and proposal development as needed
  • Translate technical product capabilities into clear, compelling value for government buyers
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, and leadership teams
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and briefings


You Might Be a Fit If You:

  • Have 3–7+ years of experience selling into the U.S. federal government
  • Have successfully built and managed a sales pipeline from scratch
  • Understand federal acquisition pathways (e.g., SBIR, OTA, IDIQ, etc.)
  • Are comfortable owning deals end-to-end in a highly autonomous environment
  • Have experience in early-stage or high-growth environments
  • Are a strong communicator who can engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Are highly self-motivated and execution-oriented (“builder” mindset)
  • Are a U.S. citizen

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $200K + Bonus + Equity
