The Opportunity: Senior Project Manager

Location: Remote (30-50% travel)

Reports to: Division Manager

Company Overview

A growing technical organization manages complex programs requiring coordination across multiple teams, technologies, and external partners. The organization is seeking experienced technical leaders capable of integrating diverse capabilities, establishing common operating methods, and delivering scalable approaches for complex field evaluations.

Position Overview

The Autonomy Senior Project Manager will serve as a senior technical integration leader responsible for bringing multiple partner teams together around common autonomy data-collection and evaluation methods. The position is a supervisory technical-integration role focused on orchestrating how autonomous systems are tested and evaluated across multiple platforms and domains—not a hands-on software development position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end program delivery: Develop cost proposals and manage budgets ($5M–$20M scale) for assigned autonomy data-collection and evaluation efforts
  • Supervise teams of teams through designated partners; align instrumentation, networking, software, analysis, and field-support capabilities
  • Establish common methods: Convene partner-team leads, map available capabilities, assign responsibilities, and establish integrated planning and readiness processes
  • Develop collection approaches: Lead development of autonomy data-collection methods capturing collaborative autonomy behavior, hierarchical command-and-control structures, and operator supervision patterns
  • Coordinate technical interfaces: Ensure shared data dictionaries, interface specifications, configuration records, timing criteria, and authorized data handover across multiple vendors and test sites
  • Lead readiness reviews: Supervise partner integration rehearsals and collection-readiness reviews; verify end-to-end system capture and reconstruction
  • Resolve dependencies: Identify and resolve cross-team interfaces, technical gaps, and resource conflicts; elevate decisions outside your authority to leadership
  • Deliver technical documentation: Produce reusable collection methods, document coverage gaps, and define prioritized improvements for future autonomy evaluation efforts
  • Manage risk and change: Maintain requirements, risks, decisions, and change records; forecast costs and performance

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
  • Senior leadership of multi-organization technical teams, including partner integration, schedules, budgets, risks, and customer delivery
  • Experience leading cost proposals and budget execution for projects/programs at a comparable $5M–$20M scale, including partner cost integration, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting
  • Bachelor's degree in systems, computer, electrical, or data engineering; computer science; robotics; or a related technical field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Deep applied understanding of collaborative autonomy, hierarchical command and control, and one-to-many supervisory control, sufficient to define collection needs and challenge proposed methods
  • Demonstrated development and integration of data collection and analysis plans for multi-platform, multi-vendor, or multi-site testing and evaluation
  • Ability to interpret architectures, interfaces, message flows, and system logs and critically review collection and analysis approaches with technical specialists
  • Experience translating test objectives into observable events, evidence requirements, collection responsibilities, and traceable findings
  • Working proficiency with instrumentation, networks, synchronized telemetry and logs, configuration records, data quality, and authorized repository integration
  • Strong technical judgment and communication of coverage, readiness, uncertainty, resource needs, and collection limitations to enterprise partners and customers
  • Demonstrated ability to bring multiple technical teams and partner organizations around common methods and shared planning processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting T&E organizations using common collection plans and data standards
  • Direct experience with Group 1 UAS and USV autonomy collection, or transferring collection methods across air, maritime, and ground domains
  • Experience with operator-workload collection, communications reconstruction, independent ground truth, or interoperable multi-site data repositories
  • Project-management training and experience leading integrated technical reviews

Clearance Requirements

  • Secret eligibility required; active Secret preferred
  • Higher access may be required for certain assignments

Compensation / Benefits

  • $160,000–$225,000 base + bonus potential
  • Health/Dental
  • 4% IRA match
