About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Executive to join our Abu Dhabi office. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure compliance with UAE laws and regulations, and provide accurate financial reporting to support business decisions. This role requires prior experience in a similar position, ideally within trading, distribution, or a commercial dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Financial Record Keeping
· Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely posting of all financial transactions.
· Manage accounting entries in compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations.
· Accounts Payable & Receivable
· Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and prepare timely payments.
· Issue customer invoices, follow up on collections, and reconcile customer/supplier accounts.
· Bank & Cash Management
· Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash flow.
· Handle petty cash and ensure proper documentation of expenses.
· Payroll & WPS
· Prepare monthly payroll and ensure compliance with Wage Protection System (WPS) requirements.
· Maintain employee expense claims and reimbursements.
· VAT & Compliance
· Prepare and maintain VAT records in compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.
· Assist in preparing quarterly VAT returns and ensure timely filing.
· Financial Reporting
· Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
· Support in preparing financial statements as per IFRS.
· Audit & Documentation
· Maintain proper filing of accounting records and audit trail for external/internal audits.
· Provide required schedules and documentation to auditors.
· Budgeting & Cost Control
· Assist in preparing budgets and monitor actual expenses against budget.
· Highlight variances and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
· Cross-Department Support
· Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and project teams for invoice verification and cost allocation.
· Support management with financial insights for decision-making.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a trading, distribution, or furniture/interiors company.
· Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, FTA compliance, and WPS payroll.
· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) and MS Excel.
· Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Based in Abu Dhabi (or willing to relocate).
