About the Company

Our client is a well-established commercial furniture dealer representing multiple premium global brands across the UAE. With a strong presence in corporate, hospitality, education, and government projects, they deliver high-quality workspace solutions tailored to modern environments. They are now looking to hire an experienced Estimation / Design Team Leader to oversee their design and estimation function in Dubai.

About the Role

The Estimation/Design Team Leader will manage a small team responsible for space planning, product specification, furniture layouts, and costing for project proposals. This role requires someone with strong technical design skills, commercial awareness, and hands-on experience within a furniture dealership, interiors company, or workspace solutions provider.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organised, and able to translate client requirements into accurate proposals and visually compelling designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design and estimation team, ensuring timely delivery of proposals and drawings.
• Oversee space planning, furniture layouts, and product specifications based on client briefs.
• Prepare detailed BOQs, costing sheets, and commercial proposals for sales teams and clients.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and commercial offers in line with client requirements.
• Review project drawings and client requirements to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
• Coordinate closely with the sales team to support pitches, presentations, and tender submissions.
• Liaise with suppliers and global brand partners to obtain pricing, product information, and lead times.
• Ensure all technical drawings meet brand standards and project requirements.
• Strengthen internal design processes, workflows, and quality control measures.
• Mentor junior designers and estimators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in commercial furniture, interiors, or workspace design (mandatory).
• Strong background in estimation, product knowledge, and furniture specification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or similar software is an advantage.
• Ability to create detailed BOQs, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
• Strong eye for design, space planning, and product suitability.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Experience leading or mentoring a small team is preferred.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
