Job Title: Chief Development/Advancement Officer Consultant 

Salary: This is a project-based role with an hourly rate of $90-$120 (DOE), paid either upon completion of services rendered or bi-weekly based on interim work completed.

Position Overview:


Consulting & Business Services California Consultant

As a Chief Development/Advancement Officer consultant, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive fundraising, donor engagement, and organizational advancement for our clients. You will provide strategic leadership in areas such as philanthropy, donor relations, and campaign management.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising and advancement strategies that align with client objectives and support long-term growth.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key donors, stakeholders, and philanthropic organizations to secure funding and support for client initiatives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of major fundraising campaigns, including capital campaigns, annual giving programs, and special events.
  • Advise clients on best practices in donor engagement, stewardship, and recognition to build and maintain strong relationships with supporters.
  • Collaborate with executive teams to integrate advancement strategies with overall business plans and operational objectives.
  • Conduct market analysis and research to identify emerging trends and opportunities in philanthropy and fundraising.


Our consultants work closely with clients to:


  • Identify Target Markets: Analyze market trends and client capabilities to identify high-potential target markets for lead generation efforts.
  • Develop Lead Generation Strategies: Create customized strategies that utilize a mix of digital marketing, networking, and direct outreach to attract and engage potential leads.
  • Optimize Marketing Efforts: Advise on the optimization of marketing campaigns, content creation, and social media presence to increase visibility and attract leads.
  • Nurture Relationships: Assist in building and nurturing relationships with potential leads through effective communication and follow-up strategies.
  • Measure and Analyze Results: Implement metrics and analytics to track the success of lead generation activities and provide insights for continuous improvement.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Proven expertise in fundraising, donor relations, and strategic advancement.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mobilize teams toward achieving fundraising goals.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a track record of securing major gifts and cultivating long-term donor relationships.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising campaigns and strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and resilience in navigating complex fundraising challenges in diverse organizational environments.



Education and Experience:


  • A BS/BA degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in development and advancement roles, with a demonstrated history of driving fundraising success and organizational growth.
