The Portland operation has substantial manufacturing capabilities, including corrugated packaging production and access to technical packaging design resources. This allows the sales team to pursue opportunities ranging from straightforward recurring supply needs to more complex custom packaging projects.

The company is expanding its local sales organization and is interested in motivated B2B salespeople who want to develop expertise in the packaging industry.

THE JOB

Position: Outside Sales Rep

Location: Tualatin, Oregon

Our client is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to develop new commercial customers throughout the greater Portland-area market.

This is a new-business-focused, customer-facing sales role. You'll prospect for customers, learn their operations and packaging needs, and build relationships that can develop into recurring business.

Packaging experience is not required.

The opportunity is designed for someone who enjoys prospecting, is willing to learn a technical product category, and wants to build a long-term career in B2B outside sales.

Responsibilities include:

• Identify and prospect for new commercial customers.
• Develop relationships with purchasing, operations, and other business decision makers.
• Conduct in-person customer meetings.
• Learn customer packaging requirements and identify opportunities.
• Present packaging products and solutions.
• Work with internal design, manufacturing, and support resources.
• Develop proposals and follow up on customer opportunities.
• Maintain an organized sales pipeline.
• Build recurring customer relationships.
• Travel to customer locations as required.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

• Coachability and willingness to learn unfamiliar products.
• Comfort conducting customer meetings in person.

• Previous B2B sales experience preferred.
• Outside or territory sales experience beneficial.
• Industrial distribution, manufacturing, or commercial products experience valuable.
• Familiarity with CRM or structured pipeline management preferred.
• Packaging experience is not required.

THE BENEFITS

The role offers a base salary targeted around $70,000- $75,000, with final compensation dependent on experience and approval. Year 1 OTE is 80k-85k. Year 2 is 100k+. Year 3 is 200k+.
