THE JOB

The Account Manager – Enterprise (Chicago, SLED Focus) will be responsible for driving direct sales in the Illinois and Greater Chicago territory, with a concentration on State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) accounts. This role will own relationships across public sector clients, building trust at the C-level and technical decision-maker level, while expanding adoption of network performance, visibility, and cybersecurity solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Achieve sales quota by developing and executing a territory plan for Illinois SLED accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across state agencies, city/county governments, and education systems.
  • Develop a pipeline of 4x quota through both new business development and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Partner with Sales Engineers to ensure technical alignment and solution success.
  • Consistently prospect and engage across multiple levels of government and education organizations.
  • Navigate public procurement processes, RFPs, and long sales cycles typical of the SLED sector.
  • Ensure all sales comply with company policies and government contracting guidelines.


THE QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will be an experienced enterprise/public sector sales professional with knowledge of the SLED market. Requirements include:

  • 6–8+ years of enterprise technology sales experience (networking, service assurance, cybersecurity, visibility).
  • Demonstrated success in selling into SLED accounts (state agencies, municipalities, education systems).
  • Track record of consistent quota attainment and territory growth.
  • Familiarity with government procurement cycles, RFP responses, and contract vehicles.
  • Established relationships with CIOs, IT leaders, CISOs, and decision-makers in Illinois SLED organizations.
  • Strong ability to prospect, build pipeline, and close complex deals.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus.

  • ~$150K commissions (uncapped) with total OTE ~$280K–300K.
