National Account Manager – Eastern U.S. Territory
Position Type: Remote (must be based in the Eastern U.S. territory)
Compensation: $135,000 – $145,000 base salary with total first-year earnings of $200,000+
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic National Account Manager to identify, secure, and expand relationships with target and key accounts across the Eastern United States. This role focuses on driving revenue growth, profitability, and market share for our Critical Power solutions portfolio, which includes advanced UPS systems, power distribution equipment, and integrated energy management technologies trusted by data centers, utilities, and industrial facilities nationwide.
The ideal candidate will blend technical expertise in electrical and power systems with strong commercial acumen, demonstrating success in managing complex accounts, negotiating contracts, and influencing business strategy within mission-critical infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Marketing
- Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans to identify prospects, secure new business, and grow existing accounts within the Eastern U.S. territory.
- Promote and position our Critical Power offerings as industry-leading solutions for reliability, efficiency, and uptime performance.
- Lead the proposal and contract development process, including requirements gathering, quoting, negotiation, and coordination with operations and engineering teams.
- Track and report on performance against revenue, volume, and profitability goals.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers, prospects, and key decision-makers across the territory.
- Serve as the liaison between customers and internal cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication, delivery, and post-installation support.
- Collaborate with marketing to strengthen brand presence and leverage advisory networks within the power quality and mission-critical markets.
- Manage and support relationships with representatives, channel partners, distributors, and resellers to optimize coverage and service levels.
Market Analysis & Forecasting
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and detailed sales activity reports; monitor performance and adjust strategies as needed.
- Conduct competitive and market analysis to identify emerging opportunities in data center, healthcare, industrial, and utility sectors.
- Provide leadership with market feedback and recommendations for product, pricing, or process enhancements.
Financial & Commercial Management
- Lead negotiations of commercial terms and agreements in alignment with company guidelines and profitability targets.
- Ensure cost center performance and account profitability meet or exceed expectations.
Team & Industry Engagement
- Recruit, train, and manage independent representatives and channel partners across the Eastern U.S.
- Represent the company at regional and national trade shows, conferences, and professional events related to power infrastructure and critical systems.
- Stay current with industry developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in critical power and energy management solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales of power quality or critical power products, services, or solutions.
- Proven success managing sales through representatives, distributors, and resellers.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems, UPS technologies, and power distribution equipment.
- Skilled in contract negotiation, consultative/solution selling, and executive-level presentations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities across all organizational levels.
- Results-driven, detail-oriented, and customer-focused with a strong team orientation.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite; experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems preferred.
