THE COMPANY

Our client is an established provider of modular building and space solutions serving commercial, construction, industrial, and project-based customers.

The Houston branch supports customers with temporary and permanent space needs and operates in a fast-paced environment where customer service, organization, and strong day-to-day execution are important.


THE JOB

The Operations Manager will oversee service, repair, maintenance, make-ready, and yard activity for the Houston branch. This person will be responsible for keeping work organized, coordinating employees and outside vendors, managing customer service needs, and making sure units are ready for delivery on schedule.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage day-to-day service, repair, maintenance, make-ready, and yard activity
  • Evaluate returned units and determine required repairs or maintenance
  • Schedule technicians, yard employees, contractors, and vendors
  • Coordinate work around customer delivery dates and branch priorities
  • Manage customer service and repair requests and provide timely updates
  • Work closely with sales, administration, dispatch, and branch leadership
  • Coordinate with sales on customer requirements, layouts, accessories, and delivery expectations
  • Track repair and maintenance costs and help keep projects within budget
  • Review contractor scope, pricing, timelines, and quality of work
  • Order materials and coordinate with suppliers as needed
  • Help troubleshoot operational issues and keep projects moving
  • Improve scheduling, communication, workflow, and overall branch efficiency


THE QUALIFICATIONS

Strong candidates may come from service management, equipment rental, fleet maintenance, construction services, facilities maintenance, automotive service, modular buildings, yard operations, or similar industries.


We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience managing a service, maintenance, repair, shop, yard, or similar operations team
  • Experience scheduling employees, technicians, contractors, or vendors
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • General knowledge of construction, building repair, maintenance, or related project work
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, scope of work, and project completion
  • Strong organization and follow-through
  • Ability to balance customer needs, timelines, quality, and cost
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change
  • Experience using common business, scheduling, work order, CRM, or ERP systems
  • Experience in modular buildings, equipment rental, portable storage, fleet services, construction rental, or industrial services is a plus.


THE BENEFITS

  • Base salary $80K+ depending on experience
  • Quarterly bonus opportunity, currently estimated at approximately $12,000–$20,000 annually
  • Minimal travel, primarily occasional local customer or project visits
  • Houston-based position
