THE COMPANY

Our client is one of the nation’s largest privately held wholesale distributors serving plumbing, HVAC, and industrial markets. With hundreds of locally managed branches across North America, the company combines the strength of a national organization with the entrepreneurial freedom of independent ownership. Every branch operates with local decision-making authority, encouraging employees to think like business owners and build long-term customer relationships.

For more than 100 years, their success has come from hiring great people and giving them the training, autonomy, and tools to lead. Their Management Development Program (MDP) is the company’s cornerstone for growing future branch managers, and they are now expanding that program across the East Division.

THE JOB

The Campus Recruiter will lead university and early-career recruiting for the East Division, focusing on North and South Carolina. This role builds the talent pipeline for the Management Development Program (MDP) and summer internship program—identifying, attracting, and hiring high-potential students who will become the company’s future leaders.

You’ll manage a portfolio of target universities, plan and attend recruiting events, and work closely with regional and branch leaders to match the right talent to the right opportunity. The recruiter will be responsible for every stage of the process—from campus relationship management and sourcing through interviewing, assessments, and offer coordination.

This is a highly visible, relationship-driven position that requires strong communication skills, travel during peak recruiting seasons, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with independence and initiative.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and execute a campus recruiting strategy across key universities in the Carolinas.
  • Develop strong relationships with faculty, career-center staff, and student organizations.
  • Represent the company at career fairs, information sessions, and classroom presentations.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for MDP and internship candidates.
  • Partner with regional and branch leaders to align talent with division needs.
  • Track metrics, report results, and continuously improve the campus strategy.
  • Promote the company’s people-first, entrepreneurial culture at every touchpoint.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1–5 years of campus or early-career recruiting experience.
  • Confident, engaging communicator who enjoys presenting and networking.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple schools, events, and pipelines simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with recruiting tools such as Handshake, LinkedIn Recruiter, and ATS platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; business, marketing, HR, or communications focus preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 25–35% during fall and spring recruiting seasons.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable working in a decentralized organization.

THE BENEFITS

  • Base salary range midpoint is approximately $75k + $5-10k in Bonuses.
  • Annual profit-sharing distribution (prorated in the first year).
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Extensive training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • High visibility, autonomy, and career growth within a stable, people-driven organization.
