IT Cooling National Account Manager

Location: Remote — Candidates must be located west of Denver, Colorado

Position Overview

Our client, a well-established provider of mission-critical power and infrastructure solutions, is seeking an experienced IT Cooling National Account Manager to drive growth, expand strategic customer relationships, and increase market share across its IT cooling equipment, service, and software portfolio.

This is a highly visible, customer-facing opportunity for a technical sales professional with experience in HVAC, IT cooling, data center infrastructure, mission-critical systems, critical power, or power quality solutions. The National Account Manager will develop new business, manage strategic accounts, expand channel relationships, and serve as a trusted advisor to customers investing in critical cooling technologies.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with a proven ability to build relationships, navigate complex sales cycles, negotiate commercial agreements, and grow business within the rapidly expanding data center and digital infrastructure markets.

What You'll Do

Strategic Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, market share, and growth objectives for the IT cooling product portfolio.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new customers, strategic accounts, and business opportunities.
  • Manage complex sales opportunities from initial engagement through proposal, negotiation, and project award.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop competitive technical and commercial solutions that address customer needs.
  • Build long-term account strategies designed to increase product adoption, service revenue, and customer value.

National Account Management

  • Establish and grow relationships with key accounts, prospects, engineers, consultants, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary customer interface and coordinate with sales, production, service, engineering, and support teams.
  • Develop strategic account plans and identify opportunities to expand relationships across multiple products and services.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
  • Support customer engagement and advisory initiatives in partnership with Marketing and leadership.

Channel & Partner Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers' representatives, distributors, contractors, consultants, resellers, and other channel partners.
  • Identify opportunities to expand market coverage and strengthen the company's partner network.
  • Collaborate with channel partners and internal teams to support successful product selection, delivery, implementation, and ongoing service.

Market Intelligence & Product Strategy

  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and emerging technologies within the IT cooling and data center infrastructure markets.
  • Provide leadership with recommendations regarding product enhancements, service offerings, pricing, market strategy, and business processes.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of IT cooling technologies, HVAC systems, mission-critical infrastructure, and related applications.
  • Serve as a voice of the customer by communicating market feedback and emerging requirements to internal stakeholders.

Forecasting & Commercial Management

  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts, budgets, account plans, and opportunity pipelines.
  • Monitor account and territory performance and recommend adjustments to achieve business objectives.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and help structure opportunities to support both customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Support financial planning and responsible management of assigned business expenses and cost centers.

Industry Engagement

  • Represent the organization at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, seminars, and industry events.
  • Build awareness of the company's critical cooling and infrastructure solutions within the market.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders throughout the data center, HVAC, engineering, and mission-critical infrastructure communities.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects as needed.

What You'll Bring

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant professional experience may also be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical sales experience involving one or more of the following:
  • IT cooling or precision cooling systems
  • HVAC equipment or solutions
  • Data center infrastructure
  • Mission-critical systems
  • Critical power or power quality products
  • Related technical services
  • Demonstrated success developing and growing strategic customer relationships.
  • Experience working with or managing manufacturers' representatives, distributors, resellers, contractors, or other channel partners.
  • Experience navigating complex, technical, and consultative sales cycles.

Skills & Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, IT cooling, data center infrastructure, critical power, power quality, or related technologies.
  • Proven business development, national account management, and technical sales capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence executives, engineers, consultants, contractors, and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial negotiation, proposal development, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze market conditions and develop strategic account and territory plans.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support customers, partners, and industry events.
