The organization supports employers with payroll, HR, benefits administration, compliance, insurance, retirement services, workforce management, and other essential employer-related functions. With a strong national presence and recognized brand in the payroll and HR technology sector, the company has built a sales culture centered on new business acquisition, referral partnerships, customer growth, and consistent execution.


THE ROLE

The company is seeking a District Sales Manager to lead its SMB-focused, channel-driven sales team in the Seattle market. This individual will oversee a group of outside sales representatives responsible for driving new business growth within the small and medium-sized business segment. The position is highly field-focused and hands-on, with a strong emphasis on coaching, sales development, pipeline management, prospecting effectiveness, and local market leadership.


The successful candidate will help sales representatives create strategic territory plans, cultivate referral partnerships, generate new business opportunities, and maintain consistent performance in a fast-paced, activity-driven sales environment. This leader must be comfortable providing in-field coaching, reinforcing performance standards, and fostering a culture of accountability and execution.


THE QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience leading outside B2B sales teams
  • Proven background in new-business sales leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and develop field sales professionals
  • Experience driving prospecting activity, pipeline management, and performance accountability
  • Strong presence and network within the Seattle market
  • Ability to thrive in a high-activity, performance-oriented sales culture
  • Experience leading SMB sales organizations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in payroll, HCM, HR technology, PEO, benefits, or business services
  • Experience with organizations such as ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, Paycor, UKG, Heartland Payroll, TriNet, Insperity, Gusto, Rippling, Dayforce, isolved, or similar providers
  • Experience working with channel partners, CPAs, accountants, banks, brokers, or referral networks
  • Track record of leading teams through periods of growth or market expansion
  • Experience coaching and improving underperforming sales representatives


THE BENEFITS

Target compensation includes a base salary of $100,000–$125,000, a $50,000 target bonus paid monthly, and approximately $15,000 in target RSUs.


The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, FSA options, a 401(k) plan, discretionary unlimited PTO, potential cell phone reimbursement, and sales recognition programs. Benefits become effective on the first day of the month following the employee's start date.
