THE COMPANY
This organization is an expanding provider of office technology solutions serving small and mid-sized businesses. They help companies simplify how they print, copy, scan, and manage documents by offering modern office equipment, short-term rentals, leasing options, and long-term service agreements.
The company operates in a relationship-focused industry where service quality, responsiveness, and reliability are key differentiators. Their approach emphasizes faster support and more personalized service than larger competitors, enabling them to consistently win business from well-established vendors.
The organization is currently in a growth phase and plans to expand into additional markets over the coming years. As a result, early team members will have opportunities to take on increased responsibility as the company continues to scale.
THE JOB
This is a structured Management Trainee position designed to develop early-career individuals into high-performing sales professionals and, over time, future leaders. The program is divided into four stages:
Stage 1: Sales Development Representative (SDR / Appointment Setter).
You will start by learning outbound prospecting, high-volume calling, appointment setting, and basic discovery. This phase builds confidence, resilience, communication skills, and a foundational understanding of how local businesses use office technology.
Stage 2: Outside Sales Training.
You will move into hands-on field training, which includes attending customer appointments, learning the full sales cycle, understanding equipment and service programs, observing competitive displacement strategies, and assisting with proposals and follow-up.
Stage 3: Outside Sales Representative.
You will assume ownership of a territory and manage your own pipeline. Responsibilities include conducting in-person meetings, performing needs assessments, presenting equipment and service solutions, building long-term customer relationships, and generating new business in a competitive market.
Stage 4: Leadership Opportunities.
As the company grows into additional locations, top performers will be considered for advanced roles such as senior sales representative, team lead, or branch-level leadership. Advancement is based on performance, professionalism, and readiness.
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate is outgoing, confident, and motivated by growth. This individual enjoys engaging with new people, can handle rejection with a positive mindset, and is committed to learning the fundamentals of sales. Dependability, consistency, and a strong work ethic are critical.
Backgrounds that often perform well in this role include retail wireless, gym or membership sales, hospitality, call centers, automotive sales, door-to-door roles, and early-career B2B positions. Industry experience is not required, and no degree is necessary. Candidates should be comfortable working on the phone, learning new products, following structured processes, and keeping accurate CRM records.
THE BENEFITS
You will begin with a $42,500 base salary for the first six months, along with steady monthly commissions averaging approximately $625 while you learn the role and focus on booking appointments. After this period, you will enter a short training phase with a $45,000 base salary and increased commission potential as you begin supporting active sales efforts.
Once promoted into an outside sales role, the base salary increases to $50,000, and strong performers typically earn around $100,000 annually through commissions. As the company continues to expand, leadership opportunities are also available with additional earning potential.
As the owner builds out this Oregon operation to align with his businesses in other western states, benefits will be added in the near future and are expected to include medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
