THE JOB
This role manages purchasing and project coordination for commercial door, frame, and related material packages. The person in this seat will review orders, issue purchase orders, verify pricing, track shipments, coordinate vendor communication, and help keep projects moving on time and within budget.
The right person will understand commercial construction building products, especially hollow metal doors, hollow metal frames, wood doors, and related hardware. This is not a generic purchasing role. Product accuracy matters, and the company needs someone who can recognize what is being ordered, ask the right questions, and prevent costly mistakes before they happen.
Core responsibilities include:
- Manage purchasing activity for commercial doors, frames, and related materials.
- Review orders and issue accurate purchase orders.
- Verify pricing, lead times, quantities, and order details.
- Track shipments and communicate updates to internal teams.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, project managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support project schedules, budgets, change orders, and closeout.
- Resolve purchasing and project issues quickly and professionally.
- Maintain documentation and financial accuracy.
- Monitor costs and support margin goals.
- Help improve purchasing processes and cross-functional communication.
THE QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction building products, purchasing, manufacturing, or distribution.
- Strong experience with Division 8 products, especially commercial doors, frames, hollow metal doors, hollow metal frames, wood doors, and related hardware.
- Experience issuing POs, reviewing orders, verifying pricing, and tracking shipments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, project managers, and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret pricing, quantities, product data, and numerical information.
- Strong organization, follow-up, and time-management skills.
- Professional, respectful communication style with vendors, customers, and coworkers.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- East Coast / Eastern Time availability strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred:
- Experience with access control, security hardware, Division 27, or Division 28.
- Experience supporting commercial construction project lifecycles.
- Experience with contracts, schedules, budgets, change orders, closeout, and margin awareness.
- Prior experience in a commercial doors, frames, and hardware distributor or similar organization.

Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 + bonus incentive
