HPeople are now recruiting for a Senior Warehouse Operations Coordinator for our client in Berrinba! This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of inbound warehouse operations with a primary focus on safety, compliance, and process efficiency. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of our QLD warehouse, ensuring that inbound operations are carried out effectively, safely, and in alignment with our national compliance standards. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of operational experience, a strong leadership presence, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This role also supports the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse functions and plays a key role in the implementation of national warehouse compliance systems.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Inbound Operations Management:
  • Oversee the daily management of inbound operations, including the receipt, inspection, documentation, and storage of incoming goods.
  • Ensure all inbound activities are conducted efficiently and accurately, minimizing errors and delays in the supply chain.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to manage schedules, resolve discrepancies, and optimize the flow of goods into the warehouse.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and operational needs.


  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust warehouse safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Lead the enforcement of compliance standards, including adherence to local, state, and national regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential safety hazards or compliance issues, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Train and educate warehouse staff on safety practices, compliance requirements, and emergency procedures.


  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Provide strong leadership to the inbound team, including setting clear performance expectations, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop team members, encouraging professional growth and cross-training to build a versatile and skilled workforce.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including outbound operations, inventory control, and logistics, to ensure cohesive and efficient warehouse operations.


  • Process Improvement and Implementation:
  • Identify and implement process improvements in inbound operations, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Play a key role in the development, testing, and rollout of national warehouse compliance systems within the QLD operation, ensuring seamless integration and adherence to established standards.
  • Continuously review and refine operational procedures to reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve overall warehouse performance.


  • Support to Warehouse Manager:
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with the overall management of warehouse operations, providing support in areas such as workforce planning, resource allocation, and problem-solving.
  • Act as a point of contact in the absence of the Warehouse Manager, ensuring that operations continue to run smoothly and effectively.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes, providing insights and recommendations based on operational data and industry trends.


Qualifications and Skills:


Experience:

  • Extensive experience in warehouse operations, with a significant focus on inbound logistics and management.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing warehouse teams, with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.


Leadership:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound judgments under pressure.


Technical Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and logistics software.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and national safety regulations and compliance standards related to warehouse operations.


Communication and Collaboration:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.


Problem-Solving:

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess risks, and develop practical solutions.
  • Experience in process improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, is an advantage.


Education:

  • A degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Additional certifications in warehouse management, safety, or compliance are highly desirable.
