Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will play a key role within the Finance team, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller and collaborating across multiple business functions. This role will focus on journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, sales tax reporting, and expense report review.
In addition to month-end close activities, the Staff Accountant will support ad-hoc reporting, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional accounting projects. The position will also cross-train to provide backup support for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Invoicing functions as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and timely journal entries and account reconciliations for monthly financial close.

Support ongoing audits, automation efforts, and process improvement initiatives.

Review and ensure proper accounting of employee expense reports.

Verify sales tax reporting and ensure compliance with timely payments via third-party preparers.

Develop and maintain NetSuite reports to support financial analysis for internal stakeholders.

Provide cross-functional accounting support (A/R, A/P, invoicing) as needed.

Perform ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Equivalent experience (4+ years) may substitute for degree requirement.

Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, audit, or tax.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Experience using financial software systems (NetSuite, FloQast preferred).

Working knowledge of GAAP principles.

Strong organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet firm deadlines.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Experience in construction, manufacturing, or wood products industries.

Primary work location: Boise, ID.
